Great waves around town, pond exploring, a few water shots at Banyans, portraits, and two weddings.
I met Troy & Christine last year while I was studying in Australia, and had the honour taking some photos for their wedding in Melbourne. It was so neat to experience an Australian wedding, and take photos at some stunning places around Melbourne with this lovely couple and their bridal party. We lucked out with some GREAT light and weather before and during the ceremony!
Hannah and I connected a few years back over our love for acai bowls, Jesus, and surfing which soon was shared with Kyle, her “special friend” at the time. Now, my two favourite surf buddies are married and I was thankful to be the one to photograph their special day. They had a lovely family-style wedding at Sea Life Park in Oahu with great company, fun times … and delicious local food.
I met Katie through mutual friends at Chapman University and was honoured that she was asking me to photograph her wedding. She has such a sweet spirit and enjoyable presence, which made me even more pleased to work with her and David. Unfortunately it was raining during their entire wedding day at the Heritage Museum in Santa Ana, which didn’t let up for an ounce of sunshine, but I think that’s part of what was so special about their wedding as well as it being a creative challenge for me and my assistant photographer, Nathan Worden to adapt to. I think I could get used to jumping on a plane to photograph a wedding the next day. ;)
My new favourite wedding. There were so many awesome moments, laughs, and genuine smiles shared between everyone. Rebecca made all of the flowers and designed pretty much everything herself! Impeccable details. These photos were taken by either me or my fantastic 2nd shooter, Nathan Worden.
Chuck, aka CharleyMarley on flickr asked me almost immediately after I returned to Kona for the summer, to photograph his wedding down at Hokulia in Kealakekua, Hawaii. Absolutely honored by his request, the beautifully remote location, atmosphere, and of course, bride and groom provided for some wonderful photos.
